Jane currently is a legal writing professor at Notre Dame Law School, where she has been teaching for the past ten years. In addition, Jane currently operates her own legal research and writing firm, through which she provides a variety of litigation support services, including drafting motions, briefs, and contracts for lawyers and in-house counsel. Jane also frequently coaches and tutors law students, lawyers, and law firms nationwide on writing, advocacy, and other legal skills.

Jane served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Wayne R. Anderson in the Northern District of Illinois for more than a decade. Before that, she was a litigator at two Chicago law firms, Johnson & Bell, and McDermott, Will & Emery where she litigated employment discrimination, commercial litigation, and insurance defense cases at both the trial and appellate levels.
